About Me

I live in the Central Jersey Shore area (Atlantic Highlands) of New Jersey and have now for more than half my life. My hobbies include running and cycling when I have time and/or not injured, and have several marathons to my credit years back, including a few Boston’s and NYC’s. I also actively participate with my local running club in organizing and holding various running/walking events to raise funds for various charities.

I received my Ph.D. in Technology Management from Stevens Institute of Technology.  I also have an M.S.M. in Technology Management (Stevens) as well as two Master’s degrees, one in Computer Science and Statistics (Rhode Island) and one in Statistics and Operations Research (Penn State), and a B.S. in Mathematics (SUNY Cortland). In addition, I hold the Project Management Professional (P.M.P.) certification from the Project Management Institute (P.M.I.).

I began my professional career teaching mathematics in the Connecticut Community College System, then moved on to become a research scientist at GM Research Labs, and then accepted a position at Bellcore / Bell Labs and Lucent Technologies where I’ve spent the vast majority of my career working at various times as a systems engineer, project manager, product/marketing manager, and global account sales manager.  I am the author of numerous telecommunications and network management information systems industry planning and requirements standards documents all published in the public domain.

I am an Adjunct Professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University – Worldwide as well as at Stevens Institute of Technology where I obtained my Ph.D. As a current online instructor and former online student, I understand what it is like to be on both sides of the learning equation. As a result, I am sensitive to and appreciate your unique learning goals and requirements. I am passionate about online distance learning. I believe that we are all pioneers forging a new way in this educational environment.
